Info on the time rotation Ill call base sets or base
About
now base sets have very lower stats, because over time stats grow and older cards fall out of play. But they can be also be bad, just generally. i.e. bulbasaur, very low stats, well just in generally base starter stats are very low, but regardless i can show you the card itself.
And a evolved pokemon would be better in play, well it was very easy to knock out a basic at 30, 40, 50 HP. well, here's an evolved card.
so you can imagine how good a strong basic would be. mayby a strong, good typed, high HP.
WELL WHAT IF THERE WAS A TRIO OF THOES CARDS! Yep a trio, well a duo untill jungle. Hitmonchan, electabuzz and syther.
A fighting, electric and grass type respecticly
(what?, but syther is a bug type. Well colecting that much energy would be so hecktic so they murged some types into others, and bug to grass was one of them.)
Haymaker
Haymaker, an iconic deck. the winner of many compitition (well, raindance and stall were there)
So the idea of haymaker is to RECK your oponents with great type match ups, before they can elolve they're pokemon.
The deck can be set in to play very quick because hitmonchan, electabuzz and syther being basics. (this was gen 1, electavire and scizor wern't there yet)
well. haymaker has two forms, 1 with hitmonchan and electabuzz in pure base set and the said pair plus syther, being jungle/fossil onward. also, rotation's didn't exist yet.

So, haymaker is very good (which it is),but any other deck's, yep useing blastoise and a shucle ton of water energy, let me tell you. Raindance.
Rain-Dance
About:
Rain-Dance is a deck useing blastoise's "Rain-Dance" lets you attach as much water energy per turn (thats in your hand) and why this good, it's attack, hydro pump. doing 40 Damage + 10 more for each water energy on blastios, but you have to discard the water Energy. If only you could not discard the energy or use the energy in your discard pile (forshadowing). Rain-Dance dose have a very good counter to Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal
Articuno:
Now you may think, "Articuno?, but why." Well Articuno has 70 HP and no weakness, it was the best partner for Blastiose (as a legenairy and all) freeze dry sets up any pokemon with less than 80 HP or less (like a lot of cards) for a 2 hit OK.

So, we've covered attacking but what about other win conditions. Well stall decks cover that.
Stall deck's are well, stall you. You make your opponent stay as long as possible.
about:
Now why is stall one of the top three decks, well; Its a type of deck. Lickitung, Moltres and Nurse (Chansey) stall decks.
Why It Works:
So, stall decks use the most uncommom win condition, having no cards in your deck. The winning condition's are, The Prize Cards, No Pokemon, Running Out Of Cards In Your Deck -Offical Sun/Moon Rule Book. So, thats how stall decks work.
A winning deck. Has Pralizis, leveing your opponent falling to attack. Any damage your opponent dose can be erased by Pokemon Center and Scoop Up. Syther counters any fighting type counters.
Moltres Stall:
Now Most Stall Decks have Super High Decks (Well 70 HP is quite good) but moltres is all about it's move. Wildfire. Wildfire can discard energy from moltres if you want (cause it has no attack) discard as that many cards from the top your enemys deck.
Nurse Stall:
about:
so this is a half haymaker and half alakazam and chansey.
how to use:
So, you use the haymaker to attack and alakazam 'n' chansey to stall.
use alakazam's damage swap to put damage on chansey, you use poke-center on chansey, to counter the side afect (discard all energy), you don't attach energy to chansey, it's a stall deck so, Yeah.
There's more then winning deck's. And some a super fun to play. Buzzapdos is a hyper-agressive deck useing Electrode's Buzzap abillity, turning into any energy, boosting zapdos to destroy.
So, Buzzapdos is a cool deck and all, but these decks are very popular but any deck's only here? yes i intoduce to you, Splish Splash Splosh.
